Bernadene is my name, although I answer to Berni as well. I began full-time vet nursing in July 1987; graduating with an Antech Vet Nursing Certificate in 1989. I have worked all this time in the local Royal Oak/Epsom area. This means some of my favourite moments are walking to and fro work when dogs, who are patients, recognise me and request a cuddle and a rub outside of the clinic environment.
I have two cats (down from an original four); Annie who is 17 and Riar who is 16. All my cats have been acquired through my job due to either being stray or with on-going medical issues.
I love to travel and tackle new experiences and annually join a group of friends to explore in depth another area of New Zealand. Overseas travel is also a passion – my favourite destination being England to visit my sister, extended family and friends.
My other interests include non-mainstream movies, the Pop Up Globe, musicals and English history – in particular mediaeval.
